The Asian Studies Program at the University of Alabama is a multi-disciplinary program that offers a minor, which was reinstated as of Fall 2009. The faculty affiliated with Asian Studies have specialties in art, history, languages, literature, political systems, and religions, to name a few. The faculty also focus on different areas of Asia, including China, India, Japan, Sri Lanka, and Tibet. Beyond the regular courses and undergraduate minor, the Asian Studies program sponsors a regular film series and various cultural and academic events in conjunction with other units in the College of Arts and Sciences. Students also have various opportunities to travel and study in Asia through the Capstone International Program.
