Sita Sings the Blues retells the story of the Indian epic, the Ramayana, using 1920’s blues recordings in the soundtrack. The filmmaker connects the story with her own experiences in a romantic relationship. Steven Ramey (Associate Professor in Religious Studies and Director of Asian Studies) will introduce the film and lead a brief discussion of it.
The screening and discussion will be Thursday, 11 September at 3:30 pm in tenHoor 347 (flyer).
